Arab American Family Services (AAFS) kicked off its annual Back-to-School Drive workshop last week, with an incredible turnout from families across the community. Over the course of just one day, AAFS successfully distributed approximately 400 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to local students in need.
The Back-to-School Drive workshop spans three sessions, taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, offering families multiple opportunities to receive supplies before the new school year begins.
“The Back-to-School Drive not only eases the financial burden for families but also ensures students are fully prepared to start the school year with confidence, without feeling behind in their classes,” said Saida Alakhras of AAFS. “I’m honored to be part of this meaningful work and grateful for the generous donations that help us provide our community with the resources and support they need.”
Photos from the first day of the workshop capture the excitement and gratitude of families and children as they receive their backpacks. The event reflects AAFS’s ongoing commitment to supporting families and empowering youth through education and access to resources.
